arriving in san jose

So we left chi town at 7 (the sis was a great host) got some free tv on the plane, and in case we had to make a river landing Joe and i were in charge of rescuing everyone, we sat in the emergency seats. Once we got into Denver and checked into Frontiers desk they gave us the unfortunate news that we couldnt leave until we had a return flight so everyone we come back on the 8th of April. After buying the tickets we know know that we payed about $390 for a roundtrip ticket which itsnt to bad. Oh and I realised how good my typing skills are becasue this damn keyboard has no letters on it. So anyways we left Denver at around 12am and got into san jose at about 615am. Sleeping wise it was rough, we both tried to sleep spread out on 2 seats I got minimal sleep as did Joe. We are at the beautiful exotic hostel pangea right now waiting until we can get into our room at 2, and i cant wait for a nap. We are not sure how many days we are going to spend in San Jose I am excited to go see the beach and hit up some zip lines.

Time to go work on the tan, oh and by the way I now have a shaved head rocking somewhat of a mohawk that my mom would love shortest my hair has been in a long time.

Arrival in Chi-Town

This morning my traveling comrade, Daniel Bissonnette, and I awoke and caught the 7 a.m Mega bus to Chicago. The 8 hour trip from mpls to Chicago was rather comfortable. A double decker bus with a double feature, The Assassination of Richard Nixon and The Prestige.

At three p.m. we arrived at union station where we began our mile trek to my friends house, dropped our bags then hit the 95th floor of the Hancock tower where we had a beer and took in the majestic scenery of a frozen metropolitan and an icy great lake.

Next we sampled some sushi in linkin park at Sai Cafe followed by a margarita at the twisted lizard.

Now we are back at Bissy's sisters apt. on the DePaul campus about to catch some zzz's and then awake grab a few last min supplies. 7:40ish we depart from Midway to Denver and then to San Jose, Costa Rica, where we arrive at 6:45 am. Hopefully our hostel's shuttle service ill be awaiting as the say they will be. Then who knows....

The Great Land Bridge Crossing

Strange name I know but allow me to preface some important information.

Panama and Costa Rica, our two intended destinations, make up what is referred to as a land bridge. Yes, a bridge of land. What makes this particular bridge so significant is what it connects, North and South America. Two biologically diverse continent's pedigrees have allowed Costa Rica and Panama to teem with exotic wild life and intriguing horticulture; not to be forgotten are the picturesque volcanic slopes and tropical beaches.

So don't be mistaken, our act of crossing these two countries is not what shall be deemed great, clumsy, fun and free would be far more fitting, but it is indeed the land that will be crossed that is truly great. Hopefully we can help illuminate some of these countries glorious attributes.
